In our continuing efforts to provide the best racing on Lake Ontario, we have arranged for Ontario Sailing to present training seminars for people interested in serving on Race Committee and/or on Protest Committees. Your registration fees will be reimbursed once you have completed 20 hours of related club service hours.
Seminars for Race Committee are scheduled for February 4 and 5 as follows:
Feb 4 - Level 1 (Assistant Race Officer) Theory
Duties and responsibilities of:
Recorder
Timer
Flag Officer
Sound Signaler
Line Judge
Basic compass skills
Setting and maintaining start/finish lines
Prerequisites: None
Feb 5 - Level 2 (Club Race Officer) Theory
Duties and responsibilities of leading a Race Management Team
Regatta Organization
Compass Skills - Calculating race course
Prerequisite: Level 1
You may sign up for one day for a fee of $30+HST or both days for a fee of $45+HST.
Please register and pay your fees through Ontario Sailing Association. As a member of BHYC you are automatically eligible for OSA’s “member” rates. You can register online or download registration forms at the following Web address:
