2010 Turkey Race

What: Our traditional Thanksgiving weekend race to CCIW and back.

When: Saturday October 9, 2010

Skipper’s Meeting: Saturday October 9, 2010 at 09:30 hrs.

Entry Fee: $20.00

Prizes: Turkey Related and Surprises

Warning: 11:00 hrs.

Registration sheets will be posted in the club.

2010 Turkey Race
Thanksgiving Saturday Oct 9th

What: A fun race of about 16 miles, with lots of prizes, and open to everyone.

Skippers Meeting: Downstairs in the BHYC Clubhouse, Sat. Oct 9.
At 0930.

Entry Fee: There is a $20 per boat cash entry fee. All monies collected will be distributed in the form of prizes.

Marks: The Starting & Finishing mark will be a yellow PYRA mark. (Located between pier and mark) The turning mark will be the CCIW tower located .6 nautical miles off the south end of the Burlington strip (43:16.22N by 79:45.58 W).

The Course: The course will start from the Start mark, round the CCIW tower on Port and finish between the committee boat and the Finish mark.

Classes: There will be two classes, Main & Jib and Spinnaker sharing a common start.

Scoring: Boats will be scored within their class in order of finish times corrected according to the boat’s current PHRF-LO rating.

Starting Sequence: The warning signal will be made at 1100 hrs, with the start signal for both classes at 1105.

Time Limit: The time limit for this race will be 1600 hrs, Sat. Oct. 10

Alternative Penalty: The 20% scoring penalty (RRS 44.3) will apply for this race.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded according to the results of a draw held in the Clubhouse as soon as possible after the race. Each starter will receive one chance. Each finisher will receive a second chance. The winner of each class will receive three extra chances. The second place finisher in each class will receive two extra chances and the third place finishers will each receive one extra chance. No boat will receive more than one prize.
